Faith Over Fear
Do you struggle with fear?
We all do.
Fear paralyzes you–it sabotages your vision, robs your purpose, disables your passion, kills your hope, keeps you from stepping into God’s plan for your life and steals your peace.
Faith and fear cannot coexist; one must overpower the other. God calls us to replace our fear with faith and to fully trust in His perfect plan, presence and purpose.
The question is, which one are you feeding?
Let's confront some of the lies fear tells us 👇
💙 Lie: “You're all alone."
💙 Truth: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
-Hebrews 13:5b
💙 Lie: "You'll never be enough."
💙 Truth: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
-Philippians 4:13
💙 Lie: "You’re too weak to overcome this."
💙 Truth: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
-2 Corinthians 12:9a
💙 Lie: "God has forgotten about you."
💙 Truth: "See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."
-Isaiah 49:16a
💙 Lie: "Things will never get better."
💙 Truth: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
-Jeremiah 29:11
💙 Lie: "You're too sinful for God to love you."
💙 Truth: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-Romans 5:8
💙 Lie: "You'll never conquer your fears."
💙 Truth: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
-2 Timothy 1:7
As believers, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
So, what are you being led by? What (or Who) is your compass?
To combat fear, we must actively choose faith. Like a muscle, it must be built and strengthened. Choose faith over fear, and believe God's truth as the final say over your life. As you do, you’ll experience His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
What are some fears you need to surrender to God today? 💙
